Limits and Important Notes

How the Pomodoro Cycle Works

The selected number of minutes is converted to seconds. While running, the page compares the current browser time with the stored interval end time and updates both the numeric display and progress ring.

At zero, the next mode and its selected duration are prepared. You must press Start again to begin that interval.

Formula

Interval seconds = selected minutes × 60

Example

Set Work to 25 and Break to 5. After the 25-minute countdown reaches zero, the page prepares a five-minute break; press Start when you are ready to begin it.

  • The page does not play an alarm sound or send system notifications.
  • The timer and completed-session count are cleared if the page is closed or reloaded.
  • Browser power-saving behavior can delay a visible update, although the remaining time is derived from the interval end timestamp when the page resumes.
  • Long-break scheduling and persistent session history are not included.
